Yesterday on Twitter, I discovered something amazing. Voluptuously Thin posted an interview with Tracy Durrant, the designer and owner of Edwards & Millers. Curious about this new mystery brand, I decided to read on, and I'm very glad I did!

Inspired by vintage lingerie, their first collection will be non padded, with bras (balcony and longline), high waisted knickers, and nightwear (teddies and chiffon slips). I'm already in love with the darling red number on the right, red + black lace + longline = yes please! Hopefully they'll add padded and/or moulded bras in the future as well.
Still I do have my worries. Many companies rely on upscaling: sizing up/down in band and/or cup without keeping the different needs of the size in perspective. Strap placement is one of the biggest offenders: practically every bra is made for wide shoulders, resulting in strap placement almost in the armpit for smaller cupsizes, for they have smaller ribcages. Another big offender is wire width: wide wires go almost to all the way to your back if you have a small ribcage (my Freya Deco Strapless is a big offender on this point).
I know beggar's can't be choosers, but I hope Edwards & Millers will take the different needs of different sizes into account.
There's no official launch date announced (though I've read rumours about a September launch date), nor are prices announced. I suspect the bras will be slightly expensive, as it's a small company. But, for a gorgeous bra in a 26" band, I'm already sold. I assume all bras will be available in the size range mentioned above.
Side note; their offices are located in Covent Garden, London. I'll be going there on my London trip anyway, so I'll probably stalk along there to see if they have any advertisements hanging. For you my dear readers, of course.
