Why a blog for smaller busted gals?
In the lingerie blogging sphere, there’s an emphasis on the bigger end of the size spectrum; FF+ and then some. This is not a bad thing at all, and actually quite logical: bigger cup sizes are usually sized out completely, while smaller cup sizes can get away with sister sizes and altering the band (for example, turning a 32Cin a 28DD). Still, there aren't many smaller busted bloggers around, and I’d like to share my experiences. Like many, I was wearing the wrong cup size; 34A, then 32A, and finally 32B before starting my DD+ journey. I’ve always felt insecure about my chest; they seemed smaller than literally every girl around me. So I squeezed myself into push ups & add-two-cups , praying for growth. If there’s even one girl that I can save from this agony by making her feel normal for being a smaller size, and helping her appreciate her curves, I can die in peace (well, hopefully not soon, but you get the idea).

Smaller busted girls going on a bra shopping trip are usually met with scorn, at least in my experience. ‘Why would she even need a bra?’ is an oft heard quote, resulting in smaller girls wearing 34A’s and never bothering to look further, thinking they shouldn't bother with lingerie as they’re “not big enough”. But here’s the thing: smaller busted girls are just as worthy of a well fitting bra as a larger busted girl, or an average busted girl for that matter. Just because you can be shoehorned in 32-38 A-DD through sister sizing doesn't mean you’re not worthy of a better, more comfortable bra. Wearing the right size bra can make your breasts look bigger, more well supported, and in my case, the right bra can even get rid of back pain. If I wear a 32 band now, even just for an hour or so, the pain is already taking over, and I reach for my 28’s again. In short, everyone deserves a comfortable lingerie experience, whether they’re 28A, 34B, 38G and anything and everything in between and beyond. Cup size does not determine your value in life!

The name?
I’ll be honest here; I suck at coming up with names and titles. But, I wanted to incorporate petite somewhere, so I  chose Petite & Plentiful. Why plentiful? Because even if you wear smaller sizes, you’re not less of a women; you are you, and you are an abundant amount of great; whether you’re a 28B or a 38B. Plus, I’m a sucker for alliteration and I like the way it sounds.

What to expect from this bog?
Reviews, news, lists, tips, and essays; all focusing on the smaller end of the size spectrum. Expect articles about the lingerie landscape here, which is quite different from the UK, or the USfor that matter. I’ll probably set up a swap page too, as one’s bra journey is, sadly, not filled with success alone.

About me
My name’s Mariëlle, I’m a young adult living in the Netherlands, which sadly lacks a DD+ presence, despite being only a small sea away from DD+ Walhalla aka the UK. I’m what is usually considered petite; small in height and small in frame. This brings it owns slew of bra fitting problems, such as wires poking in the armpit. My underbust measures 25”, my bust measures 31”. This puts my starting point size at 28E. As 26 bands are not commercially available, this means that, essentially, I’m almost applying the +4 rule. As a result, I’m always on the lookout for tight 28”bands.

I'm looking forward to blogging, and hopefully you'll enjoy reading!

[Review] Freya Deco Shape Moulded Multiway Bra – 30D

One of the first DD+ bras I bought; I tried it on in a boutique in my city, the only one to carry Freya, and in a selected size range. I bought this one because it was the only one available anywhere near my size.

I’m still figuring out my breast shape, but here we go: I’m shallow with little projection, and seem to be full all over. My root is narrow, and my breasts are rather close set. I have a short torso, and I’ve breast tissue almost up to my collarbone. I’ve yet to experience migration, and I suffer from armpit rolls.

General
One of the newest addition the Deco collection, part of the Deco Shape wear range (currently available in ivory, an soon to be available in black), which also include a a strapless longline, a thong, a brief, a shape wear slip, and a highwaisted control brief. This one's a seamless, moulded, convertible plunge. It's a nice everyday bra, that reminds me a bit of bridal lingerie.

Look

A pretty ivory colour, with several extra design details that make it stand out more than the regular Deco. There’s ribbons at the top of the cups, like the regular Deco, and buttons between the cups like the Deco Honey. A subtle light pink and yellow flower pattern adorns the band, which give the bra a cute and innocent feel.

Band

First of all, the band is too big, obviously. But it fits me comfortably on the tightest hook, and I’d reckon a 28”would fit me fine. However this being a Deco, I’d say the 28” would also be somewhat loose, same as the regular one. The bra hasn’t stretched much, though as
There are three hooks and two eyes, plus two placements for the hooks on each side.

Cups
Deco Shape vs. regular Deco in 28DD
The shape wear part of the cups comes in form of a thick lining, created to keep the breasts better in place. The cups are slightly too small; I’d say they run more than half a size smaller than the regular Deco. There’s less gaping than the regular one, as a result of the shape wear lining. The cups are less tall than the regular one, which seems to decrease gaping as well. There’s one placement for the hooks in the cups, unlike the Deco strapless.

Center gore & wires
As it is a plunge bra, it has a low center gore, about the same width as the regular Deco. The wires are narrow, about as narrow as the regular Deco, and come up low in the armpit.

Straps
Fully adjustable, fully convertible. Heaven for a narrow shouldered girl like me. The straps are made of a soft material, similar to the straps of the Deco soft cup. Definitely not as hard and scratchy as the regular Deco straps, and as such are less likely to irritate. They twist a lot though, so double check when you’re putting them on.

Fit
When I scoop and swoop I get a slight quadboob; however as soon as I move I start leaking out, leaving me with gaping and side spilling. I’m positive this is caused by a too large band and perhaps a too small cup. I’d wager these issue all disappear as soon as get this in the right size.

Comfort
Much more comfortable than the regular Deco! Less digging in the sternum and digging from the underwires, even though the materials used are mostly the same.

Verdict
A great addition to the already great Deco collection, though sadly, being the wrong size, not perfect. It’s a nice everyday bra that’s quite  pretty, though not too outrageous to only wear for special occasions. I highly recommend this bra to petite’s: if you’re narrow shouldered, the racerback option is A+. Also those who don’t get along with the regular Deco should give this one a go, as it seems much more forgiving of shallower shapes, resulting in less gaping (a common problem for shallow girls with the Deco). The sizing seems to run smaller than the regular Deco, and more on the line of the Taylor, Ashlee, and the other named Deco’s. I recommend sizing up, or ordering two sizes to figure it out.

What's the cut off for small sizes?

$

I'd say this differs per person, influenced by their experiences. Even if I wear a certain letter, I wouldn't dream of calling myself full busted. For example, this me wearing a Freya Gem 28E soft half cup underneath a tight T-Shirt:
If I were to go up to someone and say "I'm fullbusted", they'd propably laugh at my face and make mean comments.

Cup size is all relative in volume; A 28D is after all a 34A, and a 28E is a 38A. I'll admit, I'm probably at the end of what someone would consider small when looking at letters, but if you saw me in person I'd highly doubt you'd regard me as a big busted person, even though I wear D+.

I'm may not be a 28AA or a 30C, but I still want to write articles about this size range. I've still experienced feelings of being a flatchested freak who's not womanly enough, who will never be womanly enough because her breasts aren't good enough by society's standards.

Have you ever had the "Would you wear shoes if you have no feet" joke trown at you? Have you cried in a changing room because no item of clothing looks good on you because of your lack of bust?
Bullying, snide comments, hurtful 'jokes', feelings of inadequacyfeeling ugly, feeling like a freak because everyone arounds you seems bigger, feeling like shit because all the boys like girls with big breasts, and so on, and on, and on. My entire teenage years I was an insecure mess because of my, in my eyes, disgusting body. What's the use of hips & ass if you don't have the accompyaning tits to go with it, is what rang through my mind all the time. On top of that the media favours big chests, and only hour glass figures to boot. Hell, when did anyone underneath an F cup with a non-hourglass figure ever win Curvy Kate's Star in a Bra contest?

After experiencing all this, I'm slowly overcoming my insecurity complex regarding my chest. In the end, I'm more interested in showcasing these problems than arguing whether I'm small enough or not.

We all have our problems, and we all should be taken seriously, no matter what bell curve of the size spectrum we're at, 28AAA or 38L.

[Review] Tutti Rouge Betty Padded Half Cup Bra - 28E

About two weeks ago I entered in Fuller Figure Fuller Bust's Tutti Rouge competition, where you had to finish the sentence "I Love Tutti Rouge because.." in 50 words or less. I entered the contest with the sentence "I love Tutti Rouge because the wonderful sets make me feel better about my body and *gasp* even confident! I've always felt insecure about my chest, but luckily, the right bra can help, and Tutti has the most brilliant mix of design elements to give a girl a confidence boost!" and to my surprise, I won! A Betty Set was sent my way and arrived swift.

Look at the presentation of this beauty! The set arrived in it's own box, a sleek black with the Tutti Rouge logo in pink on the front. Inside, wrapped in pink tissue paper came Betty in 28E, her matching shorts in S, and a stick of rock.

The Bra

Meet Betty
General
This delightful number is the second offering of the up and coming Tutti Rouge, which made a splash with the padded balcony plunge Lilliana, which immediately came in a big size range. Both garments feature tags reading "Frillies to make you feel fabulous!" which perfectly embody their lovely products. Their second offering, Betty, is a padded half cup bra with vertical seams, that can easily be worn as an everyday bra, but also as a special occasions bra.

Look
A pretty colour that I can only describe as a marriage between ivory and yellow. The neither-colourful-nor- pale flower pattern is reminiscent of old oriental drawings, and look especially luxurious thanks to satin overlay of the cups. The frills add an innocent touch, and I love the bright pink colour of the bow in the center.

Band

Many bloggers commented saying it runs loose, and I have to somewhat agree. It fits similar to a Panache 28", but tighter than a Freya 28". I think those looking for 26" bands could work well with this one, esp. when paired with a Rixie Clip Bra Band Tightener. The bra features three hooks and two eyes in this size range. The underside of the band is lined with frills; they are not obstructing but do show up under tight clothes. The band is also much more curved, more shaped like the human torso, than in other brands. The brand name appears on the clasps, Tutti on the left, Rouge on the right. A cute little touch that shows how much thought was given to the design.

Cups

The cups are lightly padded with foam, featuring vertical seams which provide great uplift. I'd say they run true too size, perhaps a bit smaller. Like the underside of the band, the cups are also lined with frills; they're not itchy/scratchy and lay flat, but do show up underneath tight tops.

Center Gore & Wires
The center gore is narrow, as is often the case with half cups. A bright pink bow sits in the center, creating a delightful contrast with the pale colour and the pattern. The wires are medium to slightly wide; normally I'd need narrow wires, but the wideness doesn't cause any fit problems.

Straps
Made of the same satin as the cups, featuring the same print. Sadly, they're only half adjustable, which is a disaster for those with a short torso, like me. However, there are two metal rings connecting the straps, and I'm figuring out ways to make it racerback by connecting these rings, working with materials like ribbons and keyrings. The strap adjusters are little hearts, a cute little design touch.

Fit
Unfortunately, due to the straps the fit is not perfect; the straps fall of even at their tightest. I'm currently wearing it racerback with the straps halfway, with the aid of a keyring. When worn like this, with the straps at a comfortable height, the cups are filled to the brim; I'd say even a tiny bit too small, though it's a bit hard to figure out as I don't have normal strap support influencing the cups. My breasts are shallow, and I didn't experience any classic fit issues such as orange-in-a-glass effect. The cups are also perfectly open for those with full on top breasts, and I'd wager they'd work for full on bottom breasts too. In the end, you may want to order two sizes to figure out your size, as there's lots of reviews out there regarding the band being tight/loose, and the cups being true to size/too small.

Comfort
It's a comfortable bra, made of soft materials; the straps are silky smooth, as is the band. After a while the wires start to dig in; presumably because of their width. Though this is a common problem for me, as I have a bony rib cage and sensitive skin. The frills are made of a soft lace, and are not scratchy or itchy at all. They cause no discomfort, I quickly forgot they were even there when I wore the bra!

Verdict
A great offering from Tutti Rouge, which, sadly, is not a great fit for petites with short torsos due to the lack of fully adjustable straps. I'd say this one works for good shallow shapes. As the band is somewhat tight, it's  a good solution for those needing 26" bands. Despite the strap issue, it is nonetheless a very pretty bra, filled with design touches to make you swoon, and of course, fill you with confidence as you show of your body!

The Shorts

Gorgeous satin material in front, and see through material in the back with a naughty peek a boo keyhole on top. Frills adorn the hip band all the way around, and the thigh holes in front. A bright pink bow sits in the center, and a smaller pink bow sits on the top of the naughty peek-a-boo keyhole in the back.

It's unbelievably comfortable; the satin is soft and the mesh like see-through material is not scratchy or itchy, as is the case with the frills. Alas, they're a little too big on my 34" inch hips, but an XS doesn't seem to be available. Regardless, it's a good fit. This baby's hand wash only, so pay attention when getting ready to do the laundry!

Conclusion

I'm very happy to be the proud owner of my own Betty set, despite some issues. Tutti Rouge is a very promising player in the DD+ field, and I can't wait to get my paws on it's other darling, the gorgeous Lilliana.

A Guide to the Freya Deco range

$

The Deco range is Freya's pride and joy; immensely popular and loved by all DD+ wearing women. I have soft spot for this range: love padded and moulded bras, as they look great underneath clothes, esp. because make your bust look bigger. As such, I've amassed a collection of Deco's.

My Deco Collection
I own two regular Deco's in 28DD, the Deco Soft Cup in 28DD, the Deco Strapless in 28E, the Deco Half Cup in 28E, the Deco Shape  Mulitway in 30D, and also in 30D, the Deco Ashlee.

But, one Deco isn't the other, and as an extensive range of products, I decided to create to a extensive guide to help figure out which one suits you, and how the sizing runs.

The classic: Deco

Charcoal (l) and Pomegranate (r)

Lupin (l) and Pistachio (r)

Ocean (l) and Red (r)

A seamless, moulded, padded plunge. A classic staple of the DD+ wardrobe, it gives great shape in and out of clothes, uplift and showstopping cleavage. Works better with full on top breasts than with full on bottom breasts, and shallow shapes. Often noted problems are gaping, a loose band, and too tall cups.
  • Narrow wires, narrow band, fully adjustable straps, 2 hooks and 3 eyes.
  • Available in sizes 28-30 D-GG, 32-36 B-GG, and 38 B-G.
  • Available in contuinity colours Black, Beige, and Charcoal.
  • Available in fashion colours Pomegranate (SS2010), Lupin (AW2010), Pistachio (SS2011), Ocean (SS2012), and Red (AW2012).
Sizing?: Cups run atleast half a size to a size bigger; band runs bigger by about one size. Sizing down from your startpoint size is advised.
Review: My review of the Deco Plunge in 28DD.

The prettified classic: Deco Honey

Firecracker (l) and Iris (r)
A seamless, moulded, padded plunge. A prettier version of the regular Deco, with satin straps, button details in the center, and a subtle lace trim on the band. Same fit problems as the Deco are often reported.
  • Narrow wires, narrow band, fully adjustable straps, 2 hooks and 3 eyes.
  • Available in sizes 28-30 D-GG, 32-36 B-GG, and 38 B-G.
  • Available in Firecracker (AW2012), Iris (SS2013), and Jade (AW2013, to be released in November).
Sizing?: Seems to run exactly the same as the regular Deco; aside from the band size, which is said to be tighter than the Deco and the Half Cup. Still, you may want to take the same cup size as you do in the Deco, and perhaps a band size up (with corresponding cup size of course).

The striped: Deco Ashlee & Taylor

Taylor: Jet (l) and Charcoal (r)
Ashlee: Sorbet (l) and Candy (r)
Taylor Strapless in Jet (r) and Ashlee Half Cup in Sorbet (r)

A seamless, moulded, padded plunge with striped cups. Taylor being the sophisticated black/charcoal toned version, Ashlee being the playful pink toned version. Because of the tight stitching it gapes less than the regular Deco; you may want to try this one out if the Deco didn't work.
  • Narrow wires, narrow band, fully adjustable straps, 2 hooks and 3 eyes.
  • Available in sizes 28 D-G, 30 D-GG, 32-36 B-GG, 38 B-G.
  • Taylor is available in Jet (AW2011) and in Charcoal (AW2012)
  • Ashlee is available in Sorbet (SS2012) and in Candy (SS2013)
  • A a strapless version of the Taylor in Jet (AW2011) was also released, as was a half cup version of the Ashlee in Sorbet (SS2012).
Sizing?: Cups run at least half a size smaller than the Deco, band runs similar. Cups are also less tall than the Deco. You may want to size up from your regular Deco size.
Review: My review of the Ashlee in 30D.

The pinstriped: Deco Hatty

Hatty: Glacier (l) and Viola (r)
A seamless, moulded, padded plunge with pinstriped cups. This one shares several features with the Deco Honey, such as satin straps and buttons in the center. Unique are the extra details on the straps, narrow black lines on the outside. Same fit problems as the regular Deco are often reported, such as gaping.
  • Narrow wires, narrow band, fully adjustable straps, 2 hooks and 3 eyes.
  • Available in sizes 28-30 D-GG, 32-36 B-GG, and 38 B-G.
  • Available in Glacier (AW2012) and Viola (AW2013 to be released in august).
Sizing?: Seems to run exactly the same as the regular Deco / Deco Honey: big in the cups, big in the band. You may want to size down in the cups and/or band from your usual size.

The one season fly: Deco Lydia, Frida, Carly & Crystal

Lydia (l) and Frida (r)
Carly (l) and Crystal (r)
Seamless, moulded, padded plunges with patterned cups. Only available for one season, they're hard to find now, but you might have luck on ebay. Same problems as with the regular Deco are often reported, Carly and Crystal seem to run more similar to Ashlee/Taylor.
  • Narrow wires, narrow band, fully adjustable straps, 2 hooks and 3 eyes.
  • Available in sizes 28 D-G, 30 D-GG, 32-36 B-GG, 38 B-G
  • Available in Lydia (SS2011), Frida (AW2011), Carly (SS2012), and Chrystal (AW2012)
Sizing?: Lydia and Frida seem to run exactly the same as the Deco; you may want to size down in the cups and/or band from your usual size. Carly and Crystal have loose bands as well, but the cups run about half a size smaller than the regular Deco, perhaps due to the stitched trims. You may want to size down in the band from your usual size.

The kitschy: Deco Flamingo

A seamless, moulded, padded plunge bra, with a coral flamingo pattern. It has buttons in the center, just like the Deco Honey, but the straps seem to be more plain. Has a stitched trim around the top of the cup, but it seems to be stretchy, so those with full on top breasts should be able to wear it without quadboob problems.
  • Narrow wires, narrow band, fully adjustable straps, 2 hooks and 3 eyes.
  • Available in sizes 28-30 D-GG, 32-36 B-GG, and 38 B-G.
  • Available in fashion colour Flamingo (SS2013).
Sizing?: Seems to run exactly the same as the regular Deco / Deco Honey: big in the cups, big in the band. You may want to size down in the cups and/or band from your usual size.

The versatile: Deco Strapless

A seamless, moulded, padded strapless bra, with a silicone lined band to help the bra stay up. Cups and band feature two options for strap placement on each side; perfect for multiway wearing. Fits more like a full cup, and works well with full on bottom, shallow shapes, in contrast with the regular Deco.
  • Very wide wires, wide band, fully adjustable/detachable straps, and 3 eyes, 2 hooks in D cup, 3 hooks in DD-FF, 4 hooks in G-GG.
  • Available in sizes 28 D-G, 30 D-GG, 32-36 B-GG, and 38 B-G.
  • Available in continuity colours Black and Beige.
  • Available in fashion colour Taylor (see above).
Sizing?: The 28DD was too small, I had major orange in a glass effect and quadboob when worn with straps. 28E fits fine, if  a bit small (slight quadboob when worn with straps). I'd recommend sizing one cup up from your Deco size. As it is a strapless, the band is tighter; you might want to size up in the band if you're between sizes.
Review: My review of the Strapless in 28E.

The nonwired: Deco Soft Cup

A seamless, moulded, padded wirefree bra. Seems to be less suited for full on bottom shapes, as the breast issue gets cut off there (quadboob effect). The only one to offer 28C and 30C, so those wearing these sizes may want to look into this one, as it gives great shape and uplift.
  • No wires, narrow band, fully adjustable straps, 2 hooks and 3 eyes.
  • Available in sizes 28-38 C-G.
  • Available in continuity colours Black and Beige.
  • No fashion colours have been released.
Sizing?: This one's a bit tricky; when I scoop and swoop I get very slight quadboob, but as soon as I move I start to leak out, perhaps due the lack of underwires to keep the breasts in place. The band is loose. You may want to size up in the cup and/or down in the band from your regular Deco size.
Review: My review of the Soft Cup in 28DD.

The extra oomph: Deco Half Cup

A seamless, moulded, padded half cup. It has push up pads in the bottom of the cups to give the breasts an extra uplift. The push up pads are thick, but not overtly so; they don't add a cup size.
  • Wide wires, narrow band, fully adjustable straps, 2 hooks and 3 eyes.
  • Available in sizes 28-30 D-F and 32-38 B-F.
  • Available in continuity colours Black and Beige.
  • Available in fashion colours Ocean (SS2012) and Ashlee (see above)
Sizing?: I'd recommend sizing one cup size up from the Deco: 28DD gave me major quadboob, 28E was okay. If you have very full on bottom breasts you may want to size up to two cup sizes from your regular Deco size, due to the push up pads which lift your from the bottom.
Review: My review of the Half Cup in 28E.

The versatile shaper: Deco Shape Multiway

Ivory (l) and Black (r)
A seamless, moulded, padded plunge, part of the new shape wear line. Band features a light pink and yellow flower pattern, and shares the buttons-in-the-center detail of the Deco Honey. Two options for strap placement on each side of the band; perfect for multiway wearing.
  • Narrow wires, narrow, fully adjustable/detachable straps, 2 hooks and 3 eyes.
  • Available in sizes 28 D-G, 30 D-GG, 32-36 B-GG, and 38 B-G. .
  • Available in fashion colours Ivory (SS2013) and Black (AW2013, to be released in October).
Sizing?: Runs smaller in the cups than the regular Deco (, bands seems to run similar. You may want to size one cupsize up from your regular Deco size.

The versatile shaper deluxe: Deco Shape Strapless Longline

A seamless, moulded, padded strapless longline bra, part of the new shape wear line. Cups and band feature two options for strap placement on each side; perfect for multiway wearing. Silicone lined band featuring a light pink and yellow flower pattern. The longline part is not that long; it extends less than 10cm under the band.
  • Medium wires (more narrow than the regular strapless), longline band, fully adjustable/detachable straps, 5 hooks and 5 eyes.
  • Available in sizes 28 D-G, 30 D-GG, 32-36 B-GG, and 38 B-G.
  • Available in fashion colours Ivory (SS2013) and Black (AW2013, to be released in October).
Sizing?: The longline was too small for me in 28DD and swiftly returned; You may want to take this one a  cupsize up from the Deco, or in the same size you take the Deco Strapless. I found the band to be loose; even looser than the regular Deco. If you have the possibility, you may want to size down in the band.

The upcoming: Deco Charm and Deco Spotlight

Deco Charm in Silver
Deco Spotlight in Claret
Coming AW2013, these are two new addition the Deco range. Both are seamless, moulded, padded plunge bras. The Deco Charm takes it name after a droplet in the center, and has a new feature: an adjustable J-hook in the back, to convert the bra into a racerback. Both cups and band are lined with lace. The Deco Spotlight has a small dotted pattern, a little bow in the center, and blacks straps with a dot pattern. It seems to be based on the Flamingo shape.
  •  Presumably: Narrow wires, narrow band, fully adjustable straps, 2 hooks and 3 eyes. Deco Charm has an adjustable J-hook in the back for racerback conversion.
  • Available in sizes 28-30 D-GG, 32-36 B-GG, and 38 B-G.
  • Charm will be available in fashion colour Silver (AW2013, to be released in September)
  • Claret will be available in fashion colour Spotlight (AW2013, to be released in October)
Sizing?: Seems to run similar to the regular Deco. Time will tell though.

And that's all folks! Hope this cleared a few things up. Freya is always expanding their show horse collection, even with claims of releasing one Deco per month, expect this post to be updated accordingly.

A Plea for Small Busted Lingerie Models

$

0
Note: I'm aware of fashion models usually having small chests (though many of the most famous have large chests, such as Naomi Campbell and Lara Stone). I'm only dealing with lingerie models, as they focus on the bust as opposed to clothing/the way clothing falls.

Lingerie models are almost universally big busted: if you take a look at the Curvy Kate's Star in A Bra winners, you'll notice almost all are at least a G cup. Freya, Panache, Cleo, et al. all use models with big chests, as do conventional mainstream brands, such as La Senza and Triumph. Small busted lingerie are only ever seen modelling for brands specializing in small busts, but these images are often restricted to the store alone; you won't find them on a billboard or in a magazine.

Hunkemöller advertising their Maximizer Collection
Lingerie advertisements focus primarily on cleavage: as if it's the only reason why a woman would want to wear a bra, convincing girls they ought to be at least two cup sizes bigger. A damaging mindset, telling insecure girls their chest is not good enough for society.

Debenhams, illustrating how much retouching goes one in one pic
Furthermore, models are often airbrushed to a T and lingerie models are no exception. Shadows are added to create more definition, and Pre-Photoshop Make up tricks are also often applied, such as using bronzer to create the illusion of a bigger bust.

Victoria's Secret (l) and Asos (r)
Another often used tricks is putting models in too small bras, to create eye popping cleavage. Victoria's Secret is probably the most famous offender, putting it's models in  bras at least three cup sizes too small to create a promise of eye popping cleavage.  Asos is no stranger to it either, at first look the models may look small chested , but when you take a closer look you'll see the numerous fitting problems pointing to a too small cup size.. Even Figleaves has models wearing incorrectly fitted bras meant to showcase cleavage, not the actual fit of the bra.

This all very misleading: they sell us a product, and we expect it to give results as advertised. But, trying on that magical add-two-cups push up bras and finding it  doesn't give to cleavage only leads to frustrated tears in a changing room (been there, done that in many Hunkemöller changing rooms). By employing methods such as make-up, airbrushing, and incorrectly fitted bras the image of well-fitting bra is distorted, and in popular images translates to cleavage. All to the dissapointment of the customer, who will find the product

We need smaller busted lingerie models to show that having a small chest is perfectly normal, and nothing to be ashamed about. More diversity in chest size in lingerie modeling/advertisement will help normalizing small chests, and show young girls that it's a-okay to have small chests. I'm not saying there should only be small busted lingerie models, I'm just pleading for any to model

So pretty please Lingerie brands, mainstream and DD+ alike, make more advertisements/promo/stock photos with smaller busted models!

London Lingerie Wish List

I'm going to London for the summer, a couple-of-days city trip! I really love London; I've already been there around 5 times, but this will be my first time going on a Lingerie hunt! I'm already mapping out stores, and my wallet is already on the verge of crying.

*Cue choir singing Hallelujah*
My #1 stop is definitely Bravissimo, world renowned for their excellent fitting advice and probably the biggest stockist of DD+ brands on the London High Street. I don't know if I'll actually be able to get my own personal fitting experience, as they may be too busy (it's summer after all). But if I do: expect a review of it!

I'm also planning on checking out the high street department stores that stock DD+ brands: Debenhams, Selfridge's, House of Fraser, John Lewis, and Marks & Spencer. Selfridge's exclusively stocks Claudette, a much talked about brand, and I'd be interested in checking them out, but they start at 30" back, so tryin' and no buyin'.

I've already cooked up a wishlist of bras to try on by looking at online retailers, though I'll probably try on many more in person if I get the chance. Anyhoo, these are my top picks:

Wishlist:

Tutti Rouge - Liliana
#1 bra on my wanted list ever since I saw the first reviews popping up. I love the colour, and the shape seems like it'll work well with my: a half padded balconette plunge with stretch lace.

Cleo - Maddie

I prefer seamless, moulded, padded bras, and Maddie fits this demand perfectly. I love the Bravissimo exclusive Floral colourway

Cleo - Marcie

She looks so cute, and I desperately need a soft cup that fits well. I'm also really interested in the upcoming black babydoll as well, so hopefully they'll fit the same.

Freya - Deco Ashlee, Flamingo & Shape Multiway Bra

What can I say? I'm a Deco addict. I'd love to try the new Flamingo out, and the Ashlee and Shape in my correct size.

Gossard - Egoboost
Not sure where to find this one, but def. trying it on if I come across it. I've yet to have a push up bra with a small back, and this one is supposed to be very good.

Panache - Tango Balconette & Plunge

Two classics in the DD+ community, I'd love to try them out and see if they'll play nice with me.

Panache - Sports Bra.
Also a Perfect Crop Top for upcoming King's Day
Even small boobs need adequate support when practicing sports, and this one's said to be the best one around. It's also got a pretty look to it, which is always a plus in the land of functional yet boring sport bras.

I'll also be paying a visit to Victoria's Secret on Bond Street, and perhaps subject myself to a fitting. For science of course, as we all know their fitting methods are bogus, stubbornly holding on to +4/+5, and finding out your band size by measuring you over the bust? How logical, cough cough.

I'm absolutely stoked to be going to London, and hopefully I'll conquer myself a new bra wardrobe; or at least enough info to buy them when they're going on sale :)

Let me now if you have any London Lingerie tips for me, lovely readers <3

[Review] Curvy Kate Smoothie in Raspberry - 28DD

$

I strongly prefer padded and moulded bras: they give me the best shape underneath clothes. When I heard an entire new model, manufactured by Curvy Kate, was to become available, I was immediately excited. When I looked at the design, I fell in love. I love Leopard prints: I know it's tacky, but I can't help myself. It's a Jersey Thing. I waited for a 20% off deal from Figleaves, and ordered it in two sizes: 28DD and 28E. The 28E was too big, giving me empty space on the sides, and the 28DD is slightly too small. I kept the 28DD, which is the one I'll be reviewing.

General
Curvy Kate's first moulded t-shirt bra, the only one out there available up to J cup. The Smoothie is a seamless, padded, moulded t-shirt bra, currently available in continuity colours Black and Blush, and fashion colour Raspberry (SS2013).

Look

I got the Smoothie in 'Raspberry', a bright hot pink colour, that immediately catches your eye. The cups feature a subtle leopard print pattern, which is not notable under clothes. A pink bow adorned with a diamond droplet sits in the centre.

Band

A narrow band with 3 hooks and 2 eyes. The band feels okay, I'd say it's pretty close to a true 28". Band and wings are made of strong patterned material, the rest of the band made of stretchy mesh material.

Cups

Based on Curvy Kate's unpadded styles, it's leans more towards a traditional balconette shape, only with a lower center gore. The cups feature a subtle leopard print, are made of a thin foam lining, and are cut low enough to wear with low cut tops. Not sure if they're true to size: the difference between 28DD and 28E seemed to me more than a cup, so sizing seems tricky.

Center Gore & Wires
The center gore is a cross between a traditional high balconette gore and a low plunge gore: slightly higher than a plunges, lower than a balconette. Wires come up low in the armpit, and are of narrow to medium width.

Straps
Fully adjustable, raspberry coloured satin straps. Straps are usual placement; not especially suited for my very narrow shoulders, but wearable. Straps feature a tiny raspberry coloured bow on both sides where they meet the cups.

Fit

The cups are slightly too small; they cut off my breast tissue on top, and when I swoop and scoop I get quadboob. As the band is too big, I leak out after a while and I have to scoop and swoop again. The straps tend to slip off as well, and I have to readjust them constantly. Despite the issues, it gives excellent shape underneath clothes, and I still feel supported enough.

Comfort
One of the most comfortable bras I own! This one causes minimal wire digging, both at the end and in the sternum (the extremely painful digging of the wires is a problem often reported with Curvy Kate bras). The foamlining is soft, the straps are made of a soft satin material, and the mesh part of the band does not scratch or irritate in any way.

Verdict
I wish I could get this a half size bigger;  the way it is it's slightly too small, though not unwearable. It's a good one for those looking for a comfortable t-shirt bra., even if the sizing is a bit odd. You may want to order two cup sizes to figure out your size, and/or size down in the band (or wear it with a Rixie clip). It's a great alternative for those needing a moulded bra who can't get along with the Freya Deco.

Welcoming a Saviour: Edwards & Millers

Yesterday on Twitter, I discovered something amazing. Voluptuously Thin posted an interview with Tracy Durrant, the designer and owner of Edwards & Millers. Curious about this new mystery brand, I decided to read on, and I'm very glad I did!

*Insert choir singing Hallelujah*
A new company residing in England, Edwards & Millers focus on luxury lingerie for women with big breasts and small backs (BBSB). Their collection is seeks to give women 'That Icon Status', combining iconic shapes with Jamaican tradition. It boasts an impressive size range of 26-34 DD-M, making it the first brand out there to commercially offer 26 bands. That's right, not custom made, not altered, just readily made-for-wearing 26 bands. As someone with a 25" underbust this news came straight from lingerie heaven.

Sneak Peek from their Instagram
Inspired by vintage lingerie, their first collection will be non padded, with bras (balcony and longline), high waisted knickers, and nightwear (teddies and chiffon slips). I'm already in love with the darling red number on the right, red + black lace + longline = yes please! Hopefully they'll add padded and/or moulded bras in the future as well.

Still I do have my worries. Many companies rely on upscaling: sizing up/down in band and/or cup without keeping the different needs of the size in perspective. Strap placement is one of the biggest offenders: practically every bra is made for wide shoulders, resulting in strap placement almost in the armpit for smaller cupsizes, for they have smaller ribcages. Another big offender is wire width: wide wires go almost to all the way to your back if you have a small ribcage (my Freya Deco Strapless is a big offender on this point).

I know beggar's can't be choosers, but I hope Edwards & Millers will take the different needs of different sizes into account.

There's no official launch date announced (though I've read rumours about a September launch date), nor are prices announced. I suspect the bras will be slightly expensive, as it's a small company. But, for a gorgeous bra in a 26" band, I'm already sold. I assume all bras will be available in the size range mentioned above.

Side note; their offices are located in Covent Garden, London. I'll be going there on my London trip anyway, so I'll probably stalk along there to see if they have any advertisements hanging. For you my dear readers, of course.

Edwards & Millers can be found on a.o. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and on their Official Website. Their stock will be available on their site, and will ship internationally. Don't forget to sign up to their website to become a VIP and be updated on all the latest news!

[Review] Cleo Pippa Padded Bikini Top - 28E

$

Ever since I started growing breasts, I've always hated wearing bikini's, and I'd avoided swimming as much as possible. Luckily, the Netherlands is blessed *cough cough* with cold depressing summers, and I didn't have much need for one anyway. But if I needed one, I'd buy the one with the most push up padding I could find. I found myself too self conscious of my small breasts too wear a non push up one, and I was afraid every one would stare and laugh at me if I wore something non padded, like  triangle bikini.

Luckily, those times are almost over (still on my self acceptance journey), and ever since discovering my true size I was on the lookout for a nice bikini. I'm still a bit shy about showing myself in bikini sans push up, so I wanted a padded one. Mind you, I don't find non padded ones such as triangle and bandeau's too look good on me either: they provide no support or shape whatsoever, not a good look for shallow old me. I settled on this one, because I love nautical style bikini's, and this one looked too adorable for me to pass on.

General
Part of Cleo by Panache's first swimwear collection, Pippa is a padded half cup Bikini top with a nautical theme. Other items in the Pippa range include a bandeau swimsuit, a banded bottom, and a tie side bottom (Bravissimo exclusive). I have yet to try it out in the water, but the material is quite sturdy, so I think it'll perform fine.

Look
A blue base featuring a cute pattern of little multicoloured sailboats. Other features are coral colored straps, and a coral coloured bow made of material resembling a hawser to keep up with the nautical theme.

Band
Narrow sailboat patterned band with a coral clasp; only one setting. The band is too loose on me, it's not that much bigger than for a true 28" though. Still if you're in between sizes you may want to size down, as there's only one setting for the hook.

Cups

Padded cups with vertical seams; a traditional half cup shape. Seems to be the same cut as the Cleo Juna bra. Cups run true to size, and I assume exactly the same as the Juna.

Center Gore & Wires
Center gore is not balconette high, and quite narrow (typical for half cups). A little nautical bow sits in the center, complimenting the straps colour and creating a nice contrast with the sailboat pattern. Wires are medium to wide width. There are no wings, so those needing extra support beware.

Straps
Fully adjustable, medium width straps made of strong material. They sit quite wide, not ideal for narrow shoulders, but doable.

Fit
It's an okay fit; I have to constantly readjust the straps because they're so wide set, and the band rides up. Cups fit good, though I do get slight orange-in-a-glass effect. My breasts look well supported, and the shape from the side is good. I don't get any cleavage or cakes-on-a-plate effect, but it's good enough for a non-push up top.

Comfort
When wearing it for a short period of time, it's good. But, after a while the elastic starts to cut in (despite the band being too big), leaving very angry red marks (a common problem for me). I get back pain if I wear it too long, due to the too big band. The cups rub in my armpits after a while, and the underwires dig into my sternum also after wearing it for a while.

Verdict
A lovely, kitschy little number, I've been wearing it non-stop the last few sunny days. Despite some comfort issues, it's a great looking bra which makes me feel more confident when on the beach or at the pool. It's a good shape for tanning, though those wanting as much tanned skin as possible may be better of with a bandeau or plunge. It's a great bra for those looking for more coverage as it's not as revealing as a plunge. Still, those with narrow shoulders beware, and those that find the Juna or any related cuts not working for them. Over all, it's my #1 bikini top for the moment, and I'm planning on getting the tie side brief at Bravissimo, to complete the set.

[Review] Curvy Kate Bondi Breeze Bikini Set - 28DD & UK8

$

0
My second purchase in my quest for a good fitting bikini, I snagged this one very cheaply of Brastop. I had a hard time deciding on the size, but I went with a 28DD in the end. It's low price was definitely the tipping point in me buying it, I don't know if I would've bought it at a higher price.

Bikini Top

General
Part of Curvy Kate's first swimwear collection, Bondi Breeze is a lightly padded plunge. Some descriptions describe it as lightly moulded, which I don't find accurate. Also in the collection are a Tankini, a Short, and a Tie Side Bottom (here reviewed).

Look

A simple design of a black base with fuchsia pink details, and a little (permanently removable) fuchsia pink heart in the center. It's quite simple, but the little heart detail gives it an adorable look. I'd say this one would look good on all ages, heart or not.

Band

A wide band with only one setting and (quite big clasp). The band feels okay; I'd say it's a true 28. Still, if you're in between sizes you might want to size down, because there's only one setting.

Cups

Very lightly padded cups, a three section plunge construction. The cups are big, def. not true to size, perhaps a half size bigger. The cups don't cover much, avoid if you prefer more coverage. The cups are quite wide set, and I get slight gaping if I slouch. I don't think it works well with shallow breasts.

Center Gore & Wires
A low, typical plunge center gore with a little heart in the center. Features supportive side wings. Wires are medium to wide width.

Straps
Fully adjustable fuchsia pink straps . They start very high on me; ideal for keeping armpit tissue in check. The straps are quite wide, so those of you who prefer as little tan lines as possible should keep it in consideration.

Fit
It's a decent fit; I have to constantly readjust the straps, and the band is decent; not terribly loose but not tight either, and it does ride up. It's shows a lot of skin, and doesn't give me much uplift. I think the cups are too far apart for me, it definitely seems like it was made for someone much wider in the torso. Wires are too wide, causing painful digging. It works okay as a regular bra; the material is quite bulky so it'll show through thin tops.

Comfort
The materials feel nice, but the wires start to dig in after a while, presumably because of their width. The wide cups also rub in my armpit after a while.

Verdict
A good offering in Curvy Kate's first swimwear collection, Bondi Breeze is here for those who prefer very lightly padded bikini's, little coverage, and plunge styles. Avoid if you dislike little coverage plunges, too bulky shapes for tanning, wide wires, and if you have shallow breasts. It's not my go to bikini as I'm still too shy  show to show that much unpadded boob, and the overall construction just seems to wide for my body, but it's nice to have a back up bikini.

Bikini Bottom

A tie side bottom in black with fuchsia pink details, and a little (permanently removable) fuchsia pink heart.  Fuchsia pink strings are fully adjustable, to wear as tight or as loose as you like. I got it in a size UK8, around an XS/S, or and EU 36. They run a bit big on me; though I think they're just too long for me. I wouldn't recommend sizing up if you're in between knicker sizes.

Conclusion

Overall a nice back up bikini set, quite simple but with adorable little details (the hearts!) and great colour combo. I probably won't wear it too much as a bikini, but more as a spend-the-day-on-the-couch bra.

[Review] Freya Gem Half Cup - 28E

$
0
0
After figuring out all my Freya soft cup bras were too small in 28DD,  I had my eyes set on a 28E. This one was on sale over at Figleaves, and I really wanted to try out a soft half cup style.

General
One of Freya's newly introduced styles, Gem is a soft half cup, with an embroidery pattern and contrast lining. It's based on the Freya Rio, if you were a fan of that one, this one's worth checking out as it's much prettier (in my opinion).

Look

I own Gem in the continuity colour Black. This one features two layers of fabric; one in a black, and one in pink. The pink is a very lovely, light colour, and is overlay-ed with the black fabric, creating a lovely colour contrast. A small light pink bow sits in the center, and on top of the straps. Straps and band feature small fabric trims.

Band

The band is plain black, with little fabric trims. The band is quite wide, and runs really loose; even looser than other Freya models. Size at least one band size down if you can, as it's also really stretchy. It has 2 hooks and 3 eyes in this size.

Cups

Soft lace patterned cups with one vertical seam. I'd say the cups run true to size. The lace is stretchy, so no need to size up if you're in between cup sizes. It's doesn't provide much uplift, and gives a pointy shape.

Center Gore & Wires
Center gore is, typical for a half cup, narrow. Center gore is quite high, definitely higher than a plunge, and more like a balconette. Wires are narrow to medium width, leaning more to medium width.

Straps

Straps connect to the cup with very wide fabric, and slowly narrowing. The material follows the pattern of the cups, with a little pink bow on top. Because of this, the straps are not entirely adjustable, and I find them too run very loose. The other half of the straps are in plain black, with the typical Freya pattern and trims. The front part of the straps show up when wearing strappy tops and the like.

Fit
underneath a tight t-shirt
The cup fit well, though if I slouch I get gaping, presumably because of the very long straps. The band is definitely too big and stretchy; tissue quickly escapes. It gives a pointy shape which I don't find ideal, but it's doable.

Comfort
The material is a itchy, and the elastic band digs in after a while, leaving angry red marks. I wouldn't recommend this one if you have very sensitive skin. After wearing it for a few hours the center gore starts to dig in, causing a very abused sternum. It's not the most comfortable bra out there.

Verdict
Despite it's comfort issues, I do have too say it's on of my best fitting soft cups bra; hopefully wearing it with a Rixie Clip will remedy some of it's problems. If Freya generally works with you this one's worth looking into, though if you typically tighten your straps to the max this one might not be the one for you.

[Review] Panache Porcelain Moulded T-shirt Bra - 28DD

$

0
One of my failed gambles, bought on Ebay in May. A rather short review, as I only wore it to try on. Currently listed for exchange on Bratabase, and for sale or swap on Reddit.

General
Part of Panache Superbra's Porcelain range, this one's a seamless, padded, moulded t-shirt bra in a solid colour. It's a simple design, def. meant for everyday wear.

Look
The Porcelain in chocolate is a nice colour for those finding white and beige too boring. The cups, band, and straps are all solid colour, with no extra details.

Band
Wide band, featuring 2 hooks ans 3 eyes. The band feels okay, I'd say it's a true "28.

Cups
Seamless, moulded, padded cups. The cups were much too small for me; it fit more like a 28D. You may want to go one size up from the size you wear in the Freya Deco. They're quite shallow, and work better on those who are full on bottom.

Center Gore & Wires
Center gore is not narrow, leaning more to wide. It's balconette high. The wires are medium width, and come up low in the armpit.

Straps
Straps are only half adjustable. Avoid this one if you have a short torso.

Fit
I only wore it to try on, and it's much too small for me, creating a very pronounced orange-in-a-glass effect. The cups cut off my breast tissue on top, and my tissue didn't reach the bottom of the cup at all. The straps also don't adjust short enough, though they're wearable without much slipping on the tightest setting. The band feels tight, though that may be a side effect of the too small cups.

Comfort
I've only tried it on for a few minutes so I can't say much abbot the comfort level. The materials used feel soft though, in both cups and straps.

Verdict
A nice everyday bra, but too small for me. It works good for those with full on bottom breasts, making it a good alternative for the Freya Deco.

[Review] Freya Antoinette, Lucy, Jolie, Latisha & Retro Basic

Mass review of several Freya styles, all are too small in the cups, along with a few other fit issues. I bought them early on in my bra journey for cheap on Ebay, hoping they'd fit... and well, they didn't. Reviews are quite short, be

All bras are currently listed for exchange on Bratabase, and for sale or swap on Reddit.

Balconettes

Freya Antoinette in Black - 28D (Measurements over at Bratabase)

My first ever DD+ purchase, purchased in March on Ebay.  It was far too small on me, and I barely wore it as a result. I think it'll suit a 28D fine though. Band is good enough for a 28", though I find the straps quite itchy. Three seams, high center gore, narrow wires, and medium to wide set straps.

Freya Antoinette in Red - 28DD (Measurements over at Bratabase)
One cup size up, but still too small, causing quadboob, wrinkles appeared where nipples meet cups, and tissue leaked from the cups immediately after scoop and swooping. The material was uncomfortable in my armpit, causing rubbing pain. Band is decent enough, a bit loose for a 28", but doable on the second hook. Three seams, high center gore, narrow wires, and medium to wide set straps.

Freya Lucy in Crystal - 28DD (Measurements over at Bratabase)
Based on the Antoinette, and fits exactly the same. Quadboob, wrinkles where the nipple meets the cup, and tissue leaking out from the cups were a problem once more. The cups were rubbing my armpit, causing an uncomfortable sensation. Band is decent enough, a bit loose for a 28", but doable on the second hook. Three seams, high center gore, narrow wires, and medium to wide set straps.

Plunge Balcony

Freya Jolie - 28DD (Measurements over at Bratabase)
It's simply too small: the top cuts into my breast tissue, causing quadboob after scooping and swooping, and my side tissue is barely contained, and leaks out very quickly after S&S. Band was also loose on me, it's more of a tight 30 than a 28".  Three seams, low center gore, narrow wires, and medium to wide set straps.

Freya Latisha - 28DD (Measurements over at Bratabase)
Only worn to try on, it's much too small. It's about half a cup size smaller than the Jolie (despite being supposedly the same shape), so you may want to size up in this one if you're planning on getting it. Band seemed fine though, better than the loose Jolie. Three seams, low center gore, narrow wires,  and medium to wide set straps.

Padded Plunge

Retro Basic - 28DD (Measurements over at Bratabase)
Only worn to try on, it's much too small. Cups were too small, fit more like a 28D. Straps didn't adjust short enough, and the band is very stretchy, with only one hook for support. Three seams, low center gore, narrow wires, and medium to wide set straps.

[Review] Freya Deco Plunge - 28DD

I was a bit apprehensive about buying a Deco, size and fit wise. I read many reviews, and learned of its many problems, but also its positive points. Lady Luck was on my side, because when I was doubting, a magical stock sale appeared at Uplifted Lingerie, and I grabbed two for only £30! I got the continuity colours Black and Beige, I'm reviewing the black one here, though the Beige one is exactly the same.

General
The classic entry in Freya's Deco range, it's often hailed as one of the best bras in the DD+ circle, and a best seller for years. A seamless, moulded, padded plunge bra, it's renowned for creating traffic stopping cleavage.

Look
A plain, black coloured base with a black bow in the center, and on the top of the cups where it meets the straps. Little fabric trims adorn the underside of the band.

Band
Wide band with a lace trim underneath, featuring 2 hooks and 3 eyes. The band is definitely too big; it fits more like a "30 and is stretchy to boot.. Size down if you can, perhaps even two sizes.

Cups
Seamless, moulded, padded cups. They come up very high, those with a short torso will probably encounter fit issues because of this.

Center Gore & Wires
A low center gore of  average width. Freya is known for narrow wires, and this one fits the bill. Though I daresay those needing medium width wires can also work with this one.

Straps
Fully adjustable, trimmed straps. The straps are quite garish and bulky. They're also quite wide set, avoid if you have very narrow shoulders.

Fit
Underneath a T-shirt
I get gaping, a classic problem in the Deco. The gaping decreases when I tighten the band, I assume altering the band help this issue. The cups also seem to be too tall for me, further increasing gaping. I have to constantly readjust the straps, as they're too wide set (also helping the gaping). I didn't get the famous cleavage, probably due to my shape, but I did get somewhat cleavage, a feat for a non-push up bra! It gives great shape underneath clothes.

Comfort
I wore it once for 9+ hours. I was in such pain that I couldn't wear a bra for the next 2 days. I have no idea why, but the wires dig in me painfully, causing me to only be able to wear it for a short period of time.

Verdict
A very nice T-shirt bra, plain but functional (and what a function it fulfills!). Unfortunately, the Deco is not the saviour for me as it is too many women: I experience both fit and comfort issues, brought on by my small frame mostly. The Deco is either a winner or a loser for you, it's best if you can try it on before you buy.

A strapless bra is an essential in one's closet: you'll never know when the need to wear one arises. Being a fan of the Deco range, I decided to try this one out as my first strapless bra in my true size.

General
The strapless entry in Freya's Deco range, featuring the same basic look. A seamless, moulded, padded strapless bra, that can also be worn multiway. Those who find their shape incompatible with the regular Deco often have more success with this bra, as it works well for those with full on bottom breasts.

Look
A plain, beige coloured bra with a small dark beige bow in the center. Little fabric trims adorn the underside of the band.

Band
A wide, silicone lined band to ensure maximum stay up support. Two settings for the straps sit in the band on each side, and featuring 3 hooks and 3 eyes in this size. The band is tighter than most of Freya's offerings, though it is a bit stretchy. Still, you may want to size down if you're in between cup sizes.

Cups

Seamless, moulded, padded cups. Cups offer quite the coverage, I'd say their more of a full cup style, so don't expect cleavage . Two settings for the straps sit in the cups on each side. Cups are true to size, if only a bit small. Go up a cup size from your regular Deco size, or take your usual size.

Center Gore & Wires
Center gore is narrow and of moderate height, only slightly lower than a traditional balconette. The wires are very wide; they're almost on my back. Avoid if you strictly wear narrow wires.

Straps
Fully adjustable straps with hooks for attaching and detaching. They're the same style as in the other Deco bras, so quite bulky. But, you can attach any straps of your own choice, as long as they have hooks.

Fit
Underneath a T-shirt
I prefer to wear it racerback, when worn like this after scoop & swooping I get very slight quadboob, but not enough to size up (in my opinion). The main cup issue is my arm pit tissue not being contained enough; I assume because the cups aren't high enough. The wide wires cause no fit issues, but do cause comfort issues; see below. The band is still a bit loose on me, but it stays up decently when worn strapless. It looks great underneath clothes, giving a nice round shape.

Comfort
After a while the wide wires start to dig in, becoming very painful. The center gore digs in after a while too, causing a lot of pain. Because of this, I can't wear it for a long period of time.

Verdict
One of the best strapless bras out there, and I'm glad to own it should the occasion ever arise. I'ts one of my got to t-shirt bras, though I can't wear it for long because of comfort issues. Still, I highly recommend this one, esp. if the regular Deco didn't work well with you.

[Review] Freya Deco Soft Cup - 28DD

Because of my ongoing issues with wire pain, I decided to try a wireless model. Now, there aren't many wireless models out there in a 28, let alone padded one's. Luckily, Freya had recently introduced a soft cup model in its trusty Deco range, and armed with a 20% off coupon for Figleaves, I went off and ordered it.
General
Part of Freya's Deco range, the Deco Soft cup is seamless, moulded, padded, wirefree bra. This model's the only one to start with 28C & 30C. It's also one of the few moulded wireless bras out there in the DD+ range.

Look
Plain beige cups, with little darker beige bows on the top of the cups where it meets the straps.

Band
Plain beige band, featuring 2 hooks and 3 eyes. The band is very stretchy; size down if you can.

Cups
Seamless, padded, moulded, triangle shaped cups. They slightly flatten your breasts; full on bottoms beware. You may want to try this out in your regular Deco size, and one size up.

Center Gore & Wires
This is a wireless model.

Straps
Fully adjustable straps. They're unlike the other plain Deco's: no bulky trimmed straps for this baby. They're quite thin, made of soft material, an have two darker beige streaks running along the sides.

Fit
Underneath a T-shirt
When I scoop and swoop I get slight quadboob, but as soon as I move I start to leak out, perhaps due the lack of underwires to keep the breasts in place. When I wear the bra too low I get a slight orange-in-a-glass effect, but that disappears when I hike the bra up higher. The flattening shape of the cups may have something do with the leaking issue too. The band is loose, typical for the Deco range. I have to constantly readjust the straps, as they're too wide set. It gives great shape underneath clothes though, on par with the regular Deco.

Comfort
Probably the most comfortable Deco I own, as there are no wires to dig in. The materials are comfortable, as are the straps (unlike the straps on most other Deco models). The elastic band starts to dig in after a while, leaving angry red marks.

Verdict
It's a nice plain t-shirt bra, but a bit too small for me, or perhaps not as containing as I'd like it to be. Still, it gives great shape underneath clothes, and it's one of the best wirefree bras out there, as it gives decent enough support and shape.

[Review] Freya Deco Half Cup - 28E

I'll admit; I'm still a fan of push up bras. Old habits die hard they say. Now there aren't many push up bras available in the DD+ circle, and this one is considered one of the more superior ones. Being a fan of the Deco range, I ordered it, hoping for the best.

General
The push up entry in the Freya Deco range, featuring non removable bump it pads in the bottom of the cup. A seamless, moulded, padded, half cup bra, the only half cup shape in the Deco range.

Look
Plain beige base with a little darker beige bow in the center, and on the top of the cups where it meets the straps. Little fabric trims adorn the underside of the band.

Band
Plain beige band featuring 2 hooks and 3 eyes. The band is very loose and stretchy; size at least one size down if you can.

Cups
The push up pads in the bottom of the cups are designed to give the breasts an extra uplift. The push up pads are almost as wide as the cup, and thick but not overtly so; they don't add a cup size. You may want to size up from you regular Deco size by at least one cup size, maybe two if you have very full on bottom breasts.

Center Gore & Wires
The center gore is high and narrow, typical for half cups. The wires are wide, avoid if you strictly wear narrow wires.

Straps
Fully adjustable straps, featuring the same material and bulky pattern of the Deco regular. They're a bit thinner than the straps on the regular Deco though. The straps are too wide set for me; not great for narrow shoulders.

Fit
Underneath a T-shirt

It's fine after scoop&swoop and wearing it on the tightest hook, but after I while I get gaping near the center gore, where my breast tissue doesn't fill up all the way; it's unnoticeable under clothes. I have to constantly readjust the straps, and I get gaping when I slouch. I do get slight quadboobing, esp. with my larger breasts, though no quadboobing near the center. The band is definitely too big; I'm either altering it or wearing it permanently with a Rixie Clip. It does what it's advertised well: giving a nice push up effect.

Comfort
The wires and center gore dig in after a while, becoming very painful. Cups and band are of comfortable material, but the straps are itchy.

Verdict
A good push up bra, but it seems just too wide for my frame, causing fit and comfort issues. It's a good one if you wear sub-32 and DD+ and in want/need/lust of a bra with push up pads, as it does its job nicely.
